1 Single DRY AGE Steak CHALLENGE | Guga Foods

Is it possible to dry-age only 1 steak? Normally we dry-age a whole loin but never one steak. After many people requested this experiment today I deliver it with 3 different methods. I was shocked by this experiment and it is something you can try at home easily.

    let me introduce to you the garlic steak experiment: We are going to marinate 7 steaks overnight with just garlic 1. coat the steak in garlic powder 2. coat the steak in minced garlic from a jar 3. coat the steak in smashed up raw garlic 4. coat the steak in mashed up garlic that was roasted in the bulb 5. cover the steak with aged garlic thats been mashed or pulverized to express its oils 6. coat the steak in garlic salt 7. only put garlic powder on right before cooking (control steak) allow to rest over night, up to 12 hours dust off excess garlic coat with salt and pepper sous vide to medium rare flame Broil it serve with loaded mashed potatoes We want to see how the flavor profile changes with different types of garlic. Lets do this!

    I have split a whole cow with my brother but unfortunately, he had it butchered and already cut up into individual pieces. Furthermore, he is bringing it to me 9 hour drive for him so he is freezing it all. I want to dry age the premium cuts. So I want to make sure I can bring it back to a fridge like temp of around 36-38, and still dry age everything? I bought a huge fridge for this so Im super bummed if I won't be able to age it. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    I tried it and I don't think it's worth it. I agree you should have a a minimum a 2 inch steak. Or just do half a loin or a whole loin if ya got the room. I didn't really get enough dry age taste from the single steak.

As far as the butter aging and using the butter, I've seen videos of people butter aging, say, beef tenderloin or something like it, slicing off steaks leaving the butter intact and on the beef, and frying in a pan, letting the butter grease the pan as it melted
