Unlocking CRISPY PORK BELLY Secrets | Guga Foods

Crunchy and crispy pork belly is tricky to achieve. By testing 4 different ways I finally unlocked the secret of making the perfect pork belly. Poring hot oil, using a dehydrator and making the Chinese version of pork belly are one of the ways I tested on this video. Now you can achieve the same success at home by following your preferred crunchiness.

    The dehydrated crispiness is thin crunch. It's what you get when you roast a pig. The skin becomes crunchy but doesn't fluff up. It's more like glass vs puffs.

    It wouldn’t, the fat from the pork belly is what gives it the flavor. if you cook beef skin the results will be blueberry instead of crispy

    My SIMPLE recipe : Pat the pork belly all over with paper towels till its dry. Score the fat with a sharp knife all over to make a checkerboard pattern. Season well and rub the salt into the cuts. Place in an oven proof tray with a little olive oil. Bake till done. Now turn the oven to GRILL and crisp the top up as much as you want. Beautiful!
